Sometimes, when you're exposed and vulnerable, you can be led into an open field of endless possibilities and opportunities. The ability to let yourself enter that field can be daunting, and it can leave you feeling lost, insecure, and scared. However, allowing yourself into that field can create a vast network of growth points. Although vulnerability can attract dark energy, it also allows complete authenticity to prevail, and true authenticity creates a genuine connection with people transmitting on the same frequency.
Throughout the existence of human life, we have constantly been exposed to threats, whether they are predators, intercommunity conflicts, wars, or emotional oppression. These dangers and threats have subsequently created the ideology that being vulnerable is a sign of pure weakness, and thus people are concerned and hesitant to show any vulnerability. However, in many cases, the ability to be vulnerable is a sign of strength, as it outlines the confidence a person has in themselves. It is the confidence that the vulnerability they are allowing to be seen is there to assist with progress and growth. It is an area of themselves they see as a weak point but acknowledge and are on a path to resolve, repair, or improve.
I think vulnerability is a powerful tool in the search for happiness. Although caution must be taken, as there are, unfortunately, people in the world who prey on these characteristics, allowing these elements of ourselves to be exposed can create avenues to explore areas of weakness we may perceive in ourselves. In the right environment and collective, these weaknesses can be worked on together with those we trust.
Over the years, I've had various moments when I have felt insecure about elements of myself. These are elements that I've always felt would be deemed weaknesses and, subsequently, cause people to look down on me. However, as I've learned, others' perspectives are irrelevant, and the more confident I am in myself, the more vulnerable I can be about the parts of myself that I have questioned. I've noticed that when I expose vulnerabilities, especially to near-strangers, they are sometimes taken aback. But by allowing them to see a small, private piece of me, they tend to open up more, and the connection becomes more authentic. Often, this has brought me down pathways of universal understanding and learning. Sometimes, my vulnerability has opened gateways with others that have helped me learn aspects of myself. In turn, this has improved my outlook, resolved or improved internally perceived weaknesses, and contributed to my success in the search for happiness.
Happiness can be found through various avenues of life, and sometimes the avenues we choose may seem counterintuitive. However, if we can allow openness and transparency, and if we can allow calculated exposure to some of our vulnerabilities, we can uncover keys to doors we never knew were locked.
