Person sitting quietly by a still lake at sunrise

Throughout our lives, we are met with a variety of thoughts, feelings, and emotions, each of which helps shape our lives, perspectives, and values, as well as our understanding of the world and what it means to be happy.

Born in Wellington, New Zealand, I had a wonderful childhood. I was brought up in a privileged household where love was expressed freely, and I wanted for little. As I grew older and ventured into the world, I experienced highs and lows, and through it all, I gained more experience in life and an understanding of the challenges and fluctuations in emotions it can bring.

At a point in my life when it seemed like everything was in my favour, I began to experience darkness. Through a series of processes, introspection, and gratitude, I was able to reflect, evaluate, and create controls to help navigate this landscape. However, I realized that the fluctuations in emotions seemed to follow a trend. Subsequently, I decided to delve deeper into understanding this and searched for answers about happiness - why we're happy, what it means to be happy, and how to attain happiness.

This blog represents a year of investigation, reflection, and learning about various aspects of happiness, with the hope of uncovering something that may contribute to all of our lives.

The Approach

Balance over intensity

Emotional stability, and the understanding that the universe is fundamentally balanced, is essential to this pursuit — not allowing emotional fluctuation to dictate the day. It's less about chasing highs, and more about not being knocked over by the lows.
